- Prepare filling: Heat cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add bacon and sauté about 2 minutes. Add apples to skillet with bacon and sauté until soft, about 8 minutes. Add spices and sauté 2 minutes more.2) Prepare topping: Combine flour, pecans, and spices in medium bowl. Cut butter into dry ingredients with fork until well combined and mixture has crumbly consistency. Add maple syrup and combine all ingredients, mashing together with fork, maintaining crumbly texture.3) Divide filling among 4 custard cups and top each with about 2 heaping tablespoons of crumb topping. Place cups on baking sheet. 4) Broil on low until tops start to brown and crisp, about 10 minutes. You may need to finish them up on high for about a minute.5) Enjoy!
